What do you inspire to be when you grow up? How do you handle peer pressure? Your body is changing, how do you handle it? Teens and YAs deal with countless questions each and every day as they wonder through this thing called life. Self evaluation and evolving can be a bit overwhelming especially when you’re being tackled with questions that require answers. Yet, wouldn’t it be golden if there was a tangible good that can be used to offer assistance...something that spoke your language? Well, we believe that we have found that something after reading Kenny Bowyer’s Pass Protection.

An inspirational read that was written using football to metaphorically relate the game of life and the connection of God can be read by anyone. However, being that we are both sport players Bowyers words spoke so loudly to us. It was as if he had taken God’s word and broken it down so that we could understand how putting the whole armor of God is like gearing up to play a sport. Yet, he didn’t just use analogies and metaphors he spoke with a knowing.

“His words made me look at the game so differently. And because he used a topic I could understand it made his message so clear.” Morrow said.

But the question still stands, is this book worth your time and would YA be willing to read this novel?

“If I could, I would give this book 10 stars! In the beginning I couldn’t wrap my mind around how this author could possibly compare a relationship with God to football. But after getting through the pre-season section I was in awe. There was so much I took from this book; for example, the section on going the ‘Wrong Way.’ Bowyers said, “In other words, people can think they are headed Gods way only to discover that they have been going the wrong way the whole time. The right way to go is the way Jesus says to go.” That really spoke to me. Sometimes as a teen my direction is cloudy, but to know that there someone I can follow…that gave me hope,” said Morrow.

Bowyers wrote something that will stay with me forever, he said, “Even when you lose it takes a real man to stand up and say ‘God is good.’” And it does. It was inspirational quotes or messages such as the one mentioned above that I enabled me to be connected too this read, said D. Woods. This book is indeed a must read! But not just for sports players for all players who are involved in the game of life.

Well done Mr. Bowyers…well done!

We give this book 5 out of 5 stars

Happy reading!
