In search of a story that ventures into the realms of spiritual good and evil, I found myself drawn to Sherry Rossman’s "Faith Seekers." After reading the blurb I expected some sort of spiritual stimulation. However, was I fooled into the well-written description on the book’s jacket or did it live up to everything it hinted and promised?

There are so many elements to this story and one can take several mental approaches while reading, but I promise we will all end up at the same end, the faithfulness of God. Rossman's story is about a family of four that has lost their material possessions as well as class status, and finds their selves traveling the world living lives similar to nomads. The eldest daughter, Hanna, wars internally with understanding her purpose, her spiritual sight, and why things happened the way they did. As the story unfolds Hanna discovers that this journey she and her family are sent to travel is about destiny not coincidence.

At times this story left me covered in goose bumps and other times left me so confused. The divine intervention, the biblical words of truth, the depiction of the great I AM, and the battles between good and evil made this a beautiful read. And unlike any story I have ever read before, this novel has a divine essences that fueled me to finish the book in its entirety. However, it is written in a way that reads underdeveloped. In some parts of the story characters asked questions through dialogue that were not answered, the transitions from scenes were sometimes confusing, and the story read rushed. However, I can honestly say, "Despite some of the books hang ups the essences of this book touched my heart."

A tale of good, evil, and God’s faithfulness won me over.

I give “Faith Seeker” 3 ½ stars.

Happy Reading
