Bella Jewel & Lauren McKellar's "Til Death: Part II"

Title: Erotic Part II
“Til Death: Part II” by Bella Jewel & Lauren McKellar

Reviewed by T’s Blogging

Good morning family, friends, and page watchers. After reading Bella Jewel's book one, I could not help but to read book two. OMG moment! As well as a roller coaster ride. Katia is a hot mess and readers will see just how a scorn woman behaves, what she looks like, and just how far she’s willing to go for the sweet taste of revenge.

While Part II picks up perfectly where Part I leaves off, I promise, readers will be shocked by how different Katia is. It’s as if she did a complete 180. And honestly, booklovers will be applauding her strength as well as become frustrated with her inability to see pass the betrayal.

Instead of Katia being this venerable woman, Marcus slips into that role and that makes for a very interesting change.

Author Bella Jewel and Lauren McKellar stay true to the cheek flushing erotic sex scenes and the fast pace of the story. Honestly, there is nothing that could be added or taken out of this novel. I was excited by the many chin-dropping sections and innocent humor. Readers grab a tissue because Jewel and McKellar will demand it!

I give Til Death Part II 5 stars

Until next time,

Thomas Rottinghaus' "Graywulf"

Title: No Connection
“Graywulf” by Thomas Rottinghaus

Reviewed by T’s Blogging

Good morning family, friends, and page watchers. Let me take a deep breath before I pour out my soul.
The first few chapters of any book will either force the reader to continue onward or halt their progression, which forces them to find another read. As for Author Thomas Rottinghaus’ fantasy novel, Graywulf, I fell in love with the first chapter. The written artistry is so vivid and imaginative that readers can mentally visualize Lynch and Ned Roark trudging through a mountainous terrain; they can witness the evil and fear of the two children, and see Ned Roark’s soul leaving his body as he reveals that the magii’ri are coming for Lynch. However, something happened halting my connection?
I am unsure what transpired along my journey into Rottinghaus’s world, but I laid this book down and picked it up a total of four times over the past year. And each time I was unable to proceed pass chapter three. The first chapter truly stimulated my need to figure out what happened to Lynch, who were the magiir’ri, and so forth. However, chapter two really soiled this book for me. I was so captivated by Lynch that I desired…, no I needed the next chapters to be about that character. Instead, when the story began to discuss Scribes and Nish, I was completely turned off and just could not get into the feel of the novel.
Although my next statement is unprecedented and so unlike me, I have decided not to rate this book. I’ve also decided to write another review on this read once the connection is made. Call me crazy, but I must finish this read to give an honest review. I ask that the author be patient with me, or simply take this review for what it is worth, which is informational. The excitement in chapter one quickly declined, and though Graywulf is only book one of the series as well as the point that some of the boring information or the foundation needs to be established, some readers are unable to remain connected with such a huge falling-off.

Until next time. Happy reading.

Paula Hawkins' "The Girl On The Train"

Good morning family, friends, and page watchers. Please tell me that you had a chance to read or even watch Paula Hawkins' "The Girl on the Train"? If you haven't, you are in for a treat. Talk about a movie filled with twist, unexpected turns, and an outcome that was so far fetched that I had to watch the movie again.
Of course, I'm not sure if the movie did the book any justice if you had a chance to read and watch the movie please tell me so. But one thing is for certain, this movie was so entertaining and sporadic that I was dizzy, in a good way, as I tried to decided if the main character, Rachel, was truly a drunken lunatic that lacked self control or something else entirely.
As the story unravels it's clear that Rachel is a bit off her rocker, and that's putting it mildly. My judgmental self doomed Rachel from the very beginning. I couldn't help but to view the woman as a mentally unstable person that needed help immediately. However, when the story started to dive into the lives of two other characters, I couldn't help but to think they were all off their meds. But truly I was so far from actually comprehending the depths of the story until I reached the very end.
Hawkins did an amazing job keeping readers on the edge of their seats as she masterfully intertwined the lives of three different characters while using one common factor. OMG! Folks, you are going to love this one. And ladies, trust and believe you will be able to relate.

Paula Hawkins you've gained a fan. I give "The Girl On The Train" 5 STARS.

Until next time folks.

Good morning family, friends, and page watchers. I have a new series you must get your hands onto. Of course, there's one major flaw, which I must disclose to you before I give this novel countless accolades. I was distraught when I flipped to the last page or listened to the last track on the CD, only to find that there's a book two but was unable to find the audio version. Talk about being bummed! When you're sitting behind a desk for hours keying information, and the one thing I have to look forward to is getting lost in a world unlike none other. Let's just say the rest of my day didn't go as planned.
Jennifer Malone Wright's, "Keeper vs. Reaper" offers readers a new world. So what's the story about? Well..., there's this family that's responsible for protecting the souls of those roaming inside the graveyard. And the reapers--I'm sure you can imagine who and what they are. The main character, Lucy, discovers something about herself that changes her life, but what does that mean? Unfortunately, you will have to read the book to find out. However, what I can tell you is this, Wright has brought something worth reading and she has gained a new fan, me.
Coming from a large family with overprotective siblings, Lucy finds herself attempting to prove that she is ready for the responsibility of keeping the graveyard souls safe. Yet, when all hell breaks loose and Lucy becomes involved with the enemy, things get dicey.

An engrossing, compelling read that deserves more than five stars. Written with a new flare offering something fresh to the world of books that readers desire and crave.

I give "Keeper vs. Reaper" 5 Stars and can't wait to sink my mind into book two.

Happy reading folks.

Good morning family, friends, and page watchers. Talk about a fast pace novel with some of the most entertaining, chin dropping, and arousing love scenes that will have reader's blood boiling. It took me only one day to finish this page turner. And by the end of the day, I was surfing the internet for more.
Author Laurell K. Hamilton has very intriguing imagination that captures book-lover's attention. This story is written with such an easiness that despite the main character, Anita Blake, crazy life, readers can settle right into the story. However, I have to admit there's one flaw that unfortunately I could not overlook. There's so many characters and moving parts that at times keeping track of everyone felt like a chore. Then again, in all fairness, I did drop into Hamilton's world without reading the first book(s), which is probably why it felt as if I had been thrown into a world filled with countless were-animals with back stories unknown to me.
Since I refuse to spoil this read for you, let me keep this review short and sweet. There's sex, killings, physical combat, and oh yeah, a freaking outbreak of zombies killing and turning people.

Laurell K. Hamilton you have gained another book lover fan. I give "Affliction" 4 stars.

Author Maggie M. Larche’s, Charlie Bingham Gets Clocked, is outright hilarious and relatable. Larche’s main character, Charlie, has a crush on his elementary teacher and does everything humanly possible to stay in her good graces. But when his friend, Brad, loses his scaly friend and the teacher’s favorite clock is stolen, Charlie is thrown into a situation that can shatter everything!

This age appropriate chapter book is comical, introduces a few new vocabulary words for young readers, and creates a platform to discuss problem resolutions. But more importantly, it is a new read with new characters that book lovers will truly enjoy.

I give “Charlie Bingham Gets Clocked” 4 out of 5 stars.

Emily Moores' "Cincinnati 5: Artists Impacting the Community"

Title: The Richness of Art

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” or shall I say it is subjective; similar to how one visualizes art. In the newly released book entitled, Cincinnati 5, Author Emily Moores allows readers into a world of self-expression. Showcasing five different disciplines all in which are creating and telling stories through oil canvas’, screen prints, and narrative quilts just to name a few; five artists, all whom share the same geographic location share a common goal, their need to express themselves.

Readers will find a great appreciation in how Moores offers a snippet into each of the artists lives along with an Q&A section, and original works from each of the authors, which in hindsight enables a better perspective and admiration for the artist’s collections. The pieces selected are all conversational, which creates a need and wanting to learn more about these individuals as well as their works that contributes to making Cincinnati beautiful.

So who is the target audience for this short read? Truth is, Moores quenches the thirst of art lovers while inviting newcomers into a world were creativity has the ability to speak to each individual differently. Michael Stillion said it best when asked, “Is there any advice for anyone who is intimidated by looking at abstraction?” Stillion’s response was epic! “If you go into it, thinking that you have to see it one way, that is going to be dangerous…. [s]tep back thirty feet, look at it from a distance become interest in it.” That is how one should attack this read.

I give “Cincinnati 5: Artists Impacting the Community” 4 ½ out of 5 stars.

All hell has broken loose and at the heart of it are two sisters; one who is destined for something extraordinary, and the other will do whatever it takes to protect the only family she has. But, how will the pair measure up against the greatest evil man has ever known…Lucifer.

This action packed young adult read, with its female protagonists, is far from dainty. And readers are going to love it! Author Amy Braun’s female characters are strong as well as fearless, and they have no issues with taking names as they handout beat-downs from coast to coast. From the very beginning of Dark Divinity, the sisters find themselves in several crossfires. Rather it is the gangs in Mexico or the supernatural battle that spills over into their world, they have no choice but to fight to stay alive. But keep calm, even with all the violence assaulting so many pages, there is enough romance that keeps the heart fluttering and balances out the vivid and gruesome scenes.

Hands down, this is a great read. The author unconventionally tells the story in a way that gives the reader the illusion that they are familiar with the characters. Braun throws her readers directly into the action of the story without really focusing on character development. However, if you are a fan you are aware of her style of writing and appreciate her ability to create a reader and character connection without ever noticing it. And it works! This author knows how to keep readers enthralled, but there are a few things that could hurt this book.

I could not do away with the deja’vu feeling or overlook the editing errors. At times, there is this gnawing, similarity to Braun’s Crimson Sky. However, rest assure that the resemblances stem from her storytelling niche and her ability to write strong female characters that face unmeasurable odds. And lastly, the grammatical errors sometimes halt the flow of the story.

I give “Dark Divinity” 3 ½ out of 5 stars.

Seek and you will find, is the approach one might take while reading “Tangible Angels.” In the first half of the novel readers are introduced to this peculiar and haunted young woman, Jeannie Ivory, who will capture reader’s imagination. As Jeannie recounts her past, readers will find themselves sitting at the edge of their seats as they sift through the pages hoping that the mystery is unfolded sooner rather than later. Yet, what they will find is a story filled with unfinished business and confliction as the author abandons Jeannie’s story only to recount the story of Vanessa Cavendish.

Told in the first person, Vanessa, the narrator of author Ien Nivens’ “Tangible Angels,” takes an interesting approach in relaying the story. As she bounces from one topic to another, never really finishing thoughts, readers will find themselves submerged knee deep in her sporadic storytelling. Unlike most books that stay true to an orthodox flow (beginning, middle, and end), Nivens allows Vanessa to tell the story in pieces, which makes it sometimes confusing but then again realistic. It is this realistic approach that makes it hard to abandon the book despite the one major hang up; abandoning the intriguing and unforgettable story of Jeannie, only to pick up with Vanessa’s troubled past, and then rushing to plug the story by bringing Jeannie back in Part 4.

At some point readers may draw the assumption that there is a connection between Jeannie and Vanessa, but unfortunately it never becomes clearly apparent. Was this story about two troubled souls or a crazed angel that was tangible? Or perhaps it wasn’t about either. One thing is for certain, Nivens has the foundation of a great story, but the unstableness within the story inadvertently sucks the reader’s ability to fall in love with it; as well as the editing errors that added to the misunderstanding of sections.

I give “Tangible Angels” 3 out of 5 stars.

Steamy and sensual along with the most mind blowing sex, which covers countless pages of E. G. Patrick’s “Solid Stone,” this book entices and excites. When readers think there is no other way for the author to create an interesting and arousing sex scene, they are not let down. Patrick opens doors to a world that seems vaguely familiar and sometimes titters toward the realm of fan-fiction. Erotic and romance book lovers can easily point out some similarities to E. L. James trilogy, but don’t get it twisted, Patrick is no copycat. With a twist of its own, “Solid Stone” takes off full throttle in an intriguing and unpredictable direction that will have you forgetting about Christian…Who?

As Violet Cole, a paralegal, bumps into the career accomplished Adam Stone, the pair explore and satisfies their sex craved desires as they attempt to define a relationship that is appeasing to them both. But here’s where it gets so darn good! Violet isn’t this shy and clueless virgin that needs much teaching. Her yearnings are so intense that she creates an imaginative world in which she is a submissive servant girl that enjoys being ruled by her prince. Her internal need of being ruled creeps into her world of reality when things between her and Adam become complicated. It is Violet who opens the door to the realm of dominate and submissive, which will have you running to purchase book II.

While Patrick knows exactly how to keep reader’s attention, there were a few scenarios and or conversations that were repetitive and takes away from the developing of the story. Readers will find themselves desiring to learn if Adam, the control freak, will finally pop his gasket? Or, why the drama starts too heightened and then drops flat. Then again, when the second to the last page is turned readers will realize this book is only an introduction into a darker world that Patrick is about to unveil, and I can’t wait!

I give “Solid Stone” 5 out of 5 stars.

Death is quickly approaching and there's nothing anyone can do, but for whatever reason Erin's parents, refuses to allow the disease to kill her. With no other choice but to try an experimental drug on their child something spectacular takes place, and the young girl will never be the same.

From the very beginning of this YA novel, readers will become absorbed in a tale that evolves into an action-pack read. Author Brian George starts the story out by taking readers on a sentimental journey, allowing them to witness a dying child at the sea of death who eventually matures into a raging killing machine. Talk about a twisting plot. In the beginning readers are shown the importance of life, only to be taught the need to survive by any means necessary even if that involves taking the lives of others. But the question avid readers and booklovers want answered: Is this book worth your time reading or your money?

Hands down…, this is a phenomenal book. While at times the story and certain scenes read rushed, George makes up for the shortcoming by telling a story that allows readers to become emotionally and imaginatively invested. This is indeed a #mustread.

I give Erin Moynahan 5 out of 5 stars and rate this a Publisher's Read.

We know who is doing it, but why is Angie Dedios having sex with these beautiful women and then killing them? This one question will plague readers as they become submerged in George A. Bernstein’s suspense read, “Death’s Angel.” A novel that will have you craving to uncover the mystery as well as wondering if this is a mystical read, or perhaps this Angie character is a complete lunatic? On the other hand, the question all readers are really dying to know, “Is this book worth their time?”

As an overworked detective, Al Warner, who is being haunted by the demons from his previous case, attempts to catch the town’s newest serial killer. Readers will become just as frustrated as the detective is as he along with his colleagues attempt to catch the murder. However, the most frustrating issues surrounding this entire case as well as this book, might just be how dismissive the police are when they continually overlooked one essential link. Then there are the women who refused to listen to their gut instincts. And lastly, Bernestin gives the reader so much insight that they will find themselves yelling at the characters as they read.

Suspense lovers will eat away at this book and beg for more. And at the end, they will learn that what they thought was predictable turns out to be so much more. With the countless twist and turns Bernstein keeps readers on their toes as they attempt to uncover, who is killing these women? Talk about a book that pulls at your emotions. Better yet, tell the world that Bernstein has the next must read.

Although this is a great read there were a few hang ups such as: the missing punctuation and the use of incorrect words. But in truth, those minor issues do not take away from this story at all. This is indeed a must read.

I give Death’s Angel 5 out of 5 stars!
